ICT Knowledgebase & Helpdesk

The ICT Knowledgebase has been developed to allow users to find answers to many of the common questions and issues. The Knowledgebase allows users to search throughout the articles and categories available and will display any results that fit your search criteria.

Please note: The ICT Knowledgebase should be the first stop if you are having issues and then if there are no solutions contained within it, please utilise the ICT Helpdesk to log your specific request.

The ICT Knowledgebase can be accessed via the following link: https://kb.mesc.vic.edu.au:9443/

ICT staff are also available onsite should you need to speak with them in person.

Year 7 Individuals & Society - Primary and Secondary Sources

Year 7 Individuals & Society classes learnt about the history of the college through this Term 1 activity looking at 'primary and secondary' sources of information.

Photo albums, newspaper articles and school newsletters, uniform items, trophies, Proteads newsletters, school production programs, etc. were all put out on display for students to see.

Mrs Swannell gave a short presentation on the history of the school from commencement of buildings and the first student enrolled and beginning of classes in 1975,  through to the present day.  Students then answered a short quiz as they looked through the 'primary sources' on display.

Some students were very excited to find pictures of their own families and see how the grounds, buildings, uniforms and hairstyles have changed over the past 45 years!!

New Library Catalogue and Website

It's been a busy restart to the term for our Learning Commons with many students requiring help with their new devices and just in time too as they are learning how to use our new Library Catalogue and Website.

Students are now able to search our entire collection (fiction, non-fiction, audiobooks, eBooks, magazines, ClickView) and even 'borrow' some online resources directly from the catalogue record. They are also able to "login via SSO" (use Compass details) to check their own borrowing records, renew titles, and even create alerts for new items to add to their personal reading lists.

The MESC Learning Commons website has also been updated and  has information to assist students with Bibliographies, Academic Honesty, Research and Study Skills, etc.

Pawsome Readers Competition

Our Library Team has been running an exciting competition for all students and staff to join in as a welcome back to our library - "Pawsome Readers Competition" .  Students and staff have sent in pictures of their pets "reading" together with a  short review of the book.  We have received some fantastic entries and congratulate everyone who has entered.  You can see all of these on display in the library.

The winning student entry is Catie Lange-Ward & "Buddy" and the winning staff entry is Ms McLachlan & "Pepper" - we have prizes for you and your pet.
