From the Rugby Development Officer

Urgency and technique.  Playing with both will contribute greatly in finding ways to win games. It was so satisfying watching our winning teams play with such urgency and good technique on Saturday. It’s vital our younger players learn correct technique, not only to improve their performance, but to ensure they are protected from potential injury. That said, some of our play was beautiful to watch with flowing rugby from quickly won ball.

The 13 As and Bs, 14 As and Bs and our 16 As all producing exciting wins. Elsewhere  the 15 As almost came back for a win in the second half, finishing one try behind. In the Opens our young 1st XV will have learnt a lot from a narrow loss to Aloysius. A good try-scoring second half suggests the best is yet to come. As with all young teams building both mentally, physically, tactically and technically on each performance is essential if you want to become a winning team. Analysis is easy - creating practices that both improve and transfer to match day not so.

Easter looms and we wish our tourists well as they cross the ditch for our annual rugby tour. A top initiative!  To everyone else go easy on the chocolate eggs and enjoy the break.
