Micah’s Confirmation Report

By The OCC LYM’s

Eliza Clark, Brydie Hawthorne and Isaac Selvey

On October 30 we, the LYM’s Eliza, Brydie and Isaac made the pilgrimage to Auckland, New Zealand to visit and celebrate the initiation into the Catholic Church of our friend Micah Scholes-Robertson a former student and school captain of O’Connor.

Micah has been volunteering at De La Salle College Mangere for the past 10 months as an LV in the Lasallian Volunteer Program. On the 31st of October Micah was confirmed into the faith and received the sacrament of Holy Communion while he had the privilege of speaking the first reading and leading the other candidates in the proclamation of faith.

We as a team feel fortunate to help him celebrate this occasion, witness his successes as a volunteer at De La Salle Mangere and experience the strength of the Lasallian community in action. We were fortunate to visit the Brothers' community and school where Micah has lived and worked and are grateful for the opportunity and experience.

Year 7

This week Year 7.3 have created raps as part of the unit they are studying on “Stewards of Creation”

Brooke and Riley’s Rap.

Rap by Charlotte,  Paige & Aailyah

Before Earth the world was a mystery,

then God came along and made history.

He made the Earth, night and day, before too long it was nature’s way.

Afterwards the animals came to play, but sadly they were killed day by day.

Then we came along and ruined nature’s way.
