Nossal Student Flying Solo

Over the course of this year, I’ve spent afterschool hours and weekends attending the Tooradin Flying School to achieve my Solo License, which involves me being able to fly a two-seater Jabiru aircraft by myself.

I achieved my Solo recently and would like to thank the student instructors at Tooradin Flying School for helping me throughout this journey. The lessons that I’ve undertaken have been amazing and a wonderful experience which I recommend for everyone.

Currently, I am attempting to achieve my license to take passengers. Although the experience was a bit daunting at first, it was more thrilling than first perceived and a wonderful experience. I look forward to continuing my lessons, and once again, a massive thank you to Tooradin Flying School for this opportunity.

Nossal held the 2017 Valedictory Dinner on Thursday November 23 and it was hard to tell the graduates from family and friends as they all looked so grown up!

Etihad Stadium put on a fabulous meal in the Victory Room as always and we were graced with performances by Maheesha Gamage who did a very professional perfomance of  Cold Water by Justin Bieber, and a group of our graduating students, who called themselves 8Teen and performed a clever medley of Passionfruit by Drake, 8teen by Khalid and Young, Dumb & Broke by Khalid.

This year not only did the graduates receive their graduation certificate and special graduation gift from Mr Page, the recipients of the Sir Gustav Nossal Gold Medallion were also presented these impressive medallions by Ms Michelle Desaulniers. Michelle has been instrumental in not only developing the this special award but also collecting and chronicling the points the students have earned throughout the year.

Congratulations to Cree Oliveira-Blackett for being named the Class of 2017 Valedictorian and for giving the most impressive and moving Valedictorian's speech I have had the privilege to witness, and I have seen some very impressive Nossal Valedictory speeches!
