Year 5 and 6 have been looking at the art of Romero Britto, a contemporary artist originally from Brazil. Romero is said to be “ The most licensed artist in history.” Romero has based his art around the styles of Pop Art and Cubism. His art movement is called ‘Happy Art’.
Romero aims to bring love, joy and happiness through his art.
Britto’s work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in more than 100 countries. He has created public art installations for the 02 Dome in Berlin, New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, Cirque Du Soleil at Super Bowl XLI and has been credited with the largest monumental sculpture in London’s Hyde Park history. Britto served as an official artist for the 2010 World Cup and Ambassador to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
In our art lessons we have analysed his style and tried to use bold, vibrant colours, details, and dark lines.
WANTED: If you have any newspaper or egg cartons at home we would appreciate a donation to the art room. Thank you.
