Donations of baby toiletries needed for St Kilda Mums

Thank you to all who have donated so far! We are still looking for more donations, specifically baby toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotions and nappy cream. We will continue to be open to donations until the end of March.

As part of our Service Learning Program, our Year 8’s will be making baby toiletry packs for St Kilda Mums in celebration of International Women’s Day. We are currently calling anyone across the school to bring in any of the baby toiletries listed below:

  • baby bath wash
  • baby shampoo
  • baby toothbrush and toothpaste
  • nappy cream
  • baby lotion
  • baby wipes
  • nappies (newborn size 1 and 2 preferred).

We would appreciate any of the above to be dropped off in the Middle Years Coordinator's Office or at Reception until 28 March.

St Kilda Mums supports struggling women and families through generous donations. Their baby packs are always flying out the door and Shelford would love to continue to support them this year. Thank you in advance for anything you’re able to donate! Please contact Claire Cheeseman at ccheeseman@shelford.vic.edu.au if you have any questions.

Eat Up Service program

Thank you for the overwhelming generosity shown so far by many of our Year 7 and 8 parents and other members in our community!

Year 7 and 8 students will participate in the Eat Up program as part of their Wellbeing Program and Service Learning Program. Eat Up provides food for students in schools who would otherwise go without. See their website for more information

Students will make sandwiches and snack packs for donation as part of the program in Terms 1 and 2. Year 7 and 8 students have also committed to raising $1,000 for donation to Eat Up as part of the program. They will be participating in fundraising programs at school later in the term, however we are also asking for any parent donations across the school to help us raise the $1,000 target!

Here is the link to our Eat Up fundraising page – any donation amount is greatly appreciated.

World’s Greatest Shave – support Bridget

Bridget W (Year 12) will be shaving her head on Thursday 17 March at school in order to raise money the Leukemia Foundation. They support much needed funds for research into treatment for blood cancers and support services for those living with blood cancers. She has created colourful tins that have been placed around the school for spare change.

We also highly encourage anyone in our community to support her by donating to her fundraising page here.

Anzac Appeal

At Reception we will be selling Anzac Merchandise, this includes badges and other memorabilia to commemorate Anzac Day on 25 April. Students are encouraged to purchase and wear these badges on their blazers in the lead up to Anzac Day. Please see Margie at reception to purchase, they will be available till the end of Term 1.
