Assistant Principals' Report
March 2022
The term so far….
We are fast approaching week 8 of term 1 and we have completed so many activities thus far. Its been great to see students in a variety of different activities and of course kick starting the year with the pool party was such a great day.
Over the last week we have had students participate in the following:
Step up and Clean up Australia Day.
On the 6th March was Clean up Australia Day.
So, at Greensborough College we decided that we would spread the clean up all week and have one-year level at a time to clean up areas around the school. A great way to show school pride but to reiterate the importance that we are all respecting our school environment and the community.
On the 8th March we celebrated International Women’s Day. This is an important day that as a school we acknowledge and celebrate all the inspirational women out there in the community and in our lives. Please have a read of the article written by Jacqueline Melia who is part of our Positive Climate for learning team.
All Year 7s participated in the Elevate study skills sessions learning how to manage time now they are in secondary school. We are aiming to have a Year 7-9 parent session soon. The Year 11 and 12s will be participating in their session on the 24th March and other year levels to follow over the coming terms.
Since the last newsletter article, the Student Leadership Team met with myself and the Principal to meet and greet and talk about all our new outdoor school furniture. We had a walk around the school to look at ideas for where all the new seating could go. We got some great ideas and over the coming weeks some of the furniture will be installed. Watch this space!
Our teachers will be completing Interim reports over the next few weeks. These will be published on Compass on Thursday 31st of March. Parent Teacher Interview Bookings will open on this day for Year 11 & 12’s first, then from Monday 4th of April the bookings will open for rest of our year levels.
We look forward to discussing your child’s progress this term and celebrating their achievements so far.
Enjoy the weekend and stay safe,
Rose Thomson and Glenn Jenner
