Challenge and Explore

Challenge and Explore

Emily Liu, Year 9

I am from China and now attend Year 9 at Kilvington. The biggest difference between school life in China and Kilvington is our school activity. In China, we focus more on our studies, and neglect our practice and mood, but in Australia, especially in Year 9, we do a lot of outdoor activities.

In first semester, we participated in 'Challenge' as part of the Year 9 Program. Each Friday we went to an aged-care facility called Arcare with our group, organised activities with the residents, and worked on a project.

In Semester Two, we did the 'Explore' component of the Program which involved going into the city each Friday. While we there, we did a lot of different activities and visited various locations which were really interesting. All in all, Year 9 is the best year to study in Australia!
