New Sport Centre
New Sport Centre Opening
Bridie Linehan, Senior School Sport Leader, Year 12
This year, I had the opportunity to speak on behalf of the student body at the official opening of our brand new Sport Centre.
It means a lot to us to have a dedicated space to enjoy the sports program on offer at Kilvington, and a place where we can host teams from other schools.
One of the wonderful things about the Centre is that it caters for a variety of student sporting interests including dance, basketball, netball, volleyball, and table tennis.
For me, sport is a big part of my life at Kilvington. It allows me to find balance in my school life, providing both a social and physical outlet at times when academic pressures are high.
I’m sure my peers would agree that student wellbeing is really important to the Kilvington community. A big part of this is having the Sports Centre, an environment where we can help foster student wellbeing through competition, teamwork and physical fitness.
Since we began using the Centre, we have enjoyed a number of EISM (Eastern Independent Schools Melbourne) sport matches, Physical Education lessons and gym and training sessions. I’ve been really proud to compete against other schools in such a wonderful complex.
I know I speak on behalf of my fellow students when saying that in a short space of time the Sports Centre has already enriched the sporting life at Kilvington.
