MEN

Men's PL Reserves Champions 2019

By David Bevan- Men's VP

The 2020 season has seen the leadership group say goodbye to three very important members. Michael Jones and Ben Lord have taken a step back from coaching the mens premier league squad. The mens section would like to thank Jonesy and Lordy for their hard work over the last few seasons as head coaches of the MPL and MPLR squads. The transition of both teams since the promotion to the premier grade has been outstanding and they are leaving their respective roles with the top squads in a very healthy place going into the season.

We have also said goodbye and a massive thank you to Tony Dudley - who has stepped down from the mens VP role, after a 6 huge years, steering the ship. He’ll be around the club still, so when you see him next – buy him a beer.

Moving into the new year, we’re very pleased to announce that Josh Pollard has been appointed as the head coach of the Premier League Squad and Cam Belza has returned to take charge of the Reserve Squad. Josh is a former Kookaburra, hockey one player and multiple PL premiership winner. Josh unfortunately cannot play any longer due to a reoccurring shoulder injury and is now ready to pursue his coaching career. Cam captained the reserves to a record breaking season just a couple of years ago, so he’s got the pedigree to get that back-to-back flag.

When the season kicks off again, the mens sections will be entering all 8 teams that competed last year. There’s great optimism around the club – particularly after a superb preseason.
