Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

We acknowledge that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne are situated on the lands of the five language groups that make up the Kulin Nations, who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years.

We pay respects to their Elders past, present and future, and commit to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

Dear Families

I would like to acknowledge this wonderful group of people who are the staff at St Joseph's.

It is an absolute pleasure and privilege to work along side this team. Our wonderful teachers, our amazing LSO team and Cathy in the office, who all contribute to our unique community and culture. We wish Jamee Montebruno all the very best at OLA and we know she will be adding great value to her new school.

I hope everyone is enjoying the little bit of sunshine at the moment, the tulips are in full blossom here at St Joseph's. Chess Club and Dance Club are up and running led beautifully by our senior students. Year 6 students have been starting their day earlier with a brisk morning walk with Mrs Phyland.

We have new sand in the very popular sand pit and I do apologise for the sand that is coming home in shoes and socks! Think of it as a little bit of St Joeys!

Thanks Lauren

Thank you to Lauren O'Grady who is covering Year 3 while Ms Cooke is on Long Service Leave. Lauren has been a joy to have at school and we will really miss you!

(Also ... if you know anyone who is looking to adopt a cat - Lauren also spends some of her free time rescuing and rehousing cats.

Let me know).

100 Days of Foundation !

It's almost time to wish our Preppies a huge congratulations on completing their first 100 days in school! We will be gathering and partying on Tuesday 1st August!

One of our LSO's (Will Hardie) who works in the Juniors is going on a pre service teaching placement for the rest of term. Will is a kind and committed member of our staff and he will be missed for those few weeks.

Good luck Will, we will miss you!

NAPLAN

Year 3 and Year 5  NAPLAN results are excellent and we are very proud of our students. The format for scoring the NAPLAN has changed making it difficult to compare trend data to previous years but we are very pleased with the growth and progress that we see. Thank you to all the teachers and LSOs who have supported and taught all our students. We are really pleased with the results and it demonstrates the excellence in Learning and Teaching at this school.
