A Message from the Principal

Mrs Carolyn Parsell

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had much to celebrate in the last two weeks.

St Martha's Feast Day

Last week we had a wonderful St Martha's Feast Day with Mass, open classrooms, and picnic lunch as well as fun Feast Day activities. The Mass was beautiful and it was delightful to see so many parents and grandparents visiting classrooms. It was such a lovely social day with parents and students enjoying a lovely picnic lunch on the playground. Our sincere thanks to all who joined us for the festivities. We are truly blessed to have such a warm and welcoming community. Much gratitude to Fr John for his celebration of the Mass and his always encouraging words.

St Dominic's Feast Day

We also celebrated the Feast Day of St Dominic, with a prayer led by Mini Vinnies students. We were reminded of St Dominic's dedication to prayer and particularly of his ability to teach others. St Dominic reminds us to pray the Rosary.

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop's Feast Day

The trio of Feast Day's was topped off with our prayer at Assembly this week to remember St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Our first Australian Saint, Mary MacKillop was instrumental in providing education to students who were from poorer families and founded the Sisters of St Joseph. Her best known quote is, "Never see a need without doing something about it." She inspired us to "find happiness in making others happy." We can learn a great deal from her example.

Zone Athletics Carnival

The Zone Athletics Carnival on Tuesday was a great opportunity to celebrate the physical talents of our students. We were represented by twenty-two students who completed in a range of events in track and field at Barden Ridge Athletics Track. We could not have been more proud of the way they competed and supported one another. They were very patient and encouraging throughout a very long day. Huge thanks to Mrs Saade for coordinating this event and Mr Jack for helping on the day. It was great to have the support of parents at the event.

Our school motto Strive, Achieve, Serve has been lived out in all of these events.

Please check out the Public Speaking page for more good news.

Peace and best wishes,

Carolyn Parsell
