Student Wellbeing

Meet The Team At Charlton College

What else has been happening in Wellbeing?

We have had some changes happening in the wellbeing hub so it feels like a good time to bring to light what our school has to offer in terms of wellbeing.

Tasha Roberts is located in the student wellbeing room Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, Tash is available for students to talk to and work on strategies when challenges arise.  You may see Tash in the classroom from time to time checking in and supporting students to find ways to support their learning, in the near future Tash will be hosting a range of lunchtime activities to support students in strengthening their social and emotional wellbeing. This is an extension of the new wellbeing wall located in front of the staff room. The wellbeing wall is full of wonderful resources for students to take and use, we encourage students to take what they need from the wall and trial the templates.

Jess McGurk is located in the Wellbeing office Tuesday and Friday. Jess is a wonderful support for families and is available for parents to call or email if you are looking for advice or assistance in regard to your child’s wellbeing. Jess coordinates support services, school wellbeing events and wellbeing professional development. Along with all of Jess’s behind the scenes work, Jess is a supportive person available for junior and secondary students to check in with on Tuesday’s and Friday’s.

Tom Ayars is the schools Chaplin and is available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Tom is a fun supportive person for students to hang out with. Tom runs the breakfast club program Wednesday and Friday from 8:40AM - 8:55 AM in the Canteen for all students. Breakfast club is a fantastic chance for students to catch up before school over a milo and toast. Tom can often be found around the school yard at recess and lunch, playing basketball or kicking a footy. Tom is currently working on creating some lunch time fun activities for students.
