Literacy

This term we are learning how to write a story. In Writer's Workshop, students were encouraged to think of three things to help them get started. We discussed Who, Where and What. Who will the character be? Where will they go? What will they do when they get there? I was impressed with everyone's creativity and willingness to have a go.

Numeracy

In Maths, we continued our work with Addition. We participated in rotating small groups which focused on addition-based games, problem solving and working in a guided teacher group.

Inquiry

Our Inquiry unit is focusing on looking after the world around us and how we can make a difference. This week, we had fun creating something new from recycled materials. The students used old CDs to create sea creatures and worked with their buddies to make some awesome robots.

Thank you to all families for helping to gather recyclable materials for this week's activity. We'd also like to thank our buddies for helping us make such fantastic robots.
