Student Support

Mrs Emily Sullivan

Dear Parents and Carers,

Next week is Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have a wonderful team of Educational Assistants (EAs) at St Joseph's Primary School: Mrs Kim Wadwell, Miss Kim Taggart, Mrs Amy Lobban, Mrs Sumudu De Silva, Miss Mel Honnery and Miss Taylor Bruce.

Our EAs are involved in providing targeted support in the classroom guided by the class teachers, running specific programs of intervention such as MiniLit, LanguageLift and Read3, enhancing the skills of students for whom English is a second language as well as developing helpful relationships with a range of students in order to support their wellbeing and learning.

Being an EA requires punctuality, flexibility, initiative and collaboration. We take this opportunity to thank our EAs for demonstrating these skills and we celebrate and acknowledge the significant role that they play in supporting learning at our school.

Please also see the flyer below for an upcoming Links for Life Disability Expo. This event is for people with disabilities and ongoing medical conditions, their families, carers and support network to learn more about what support and services are available throughout the area.

Kind regards,

Emily Sullivan
