TwistED Science Excursion
Last week we were very lucky to go on an amazing excursion with all the Grade One, Two, Three and Four students to TwistED Science in Moorabbin.
During we attended a workshop called 'Flash, Bang!' where we learnt about light and sound. We got to see how light works, the way our eyes work and even got to wear some very funky rainbow glasses to see light in different ways. We saw and heard how light and sound move in waves, and the difference between the pitch and volume of sounds. We used tuning forks to experiment with sound, and investigate how sound travels through air, water and solids.
Then we had time to work in small groups and explore the Green and Blue discovery areas that had a whole variety of different science based activities that we could interact with.
AFL Footy Clinic
This week we were very lucky to have Max come along from the AFL to run a special footy clinic with us. We got to get our heart rates up, moving around, running, passing and catching. It was heaps of fun and we even used our attentive listening skills so we could learn the rules of each of the games we played.
Upcoming Event Reminder
Thanks to all those families who have already returned their Prayers in Pyjamas notice.
If you have not had a chance yet, could you please return the notice (or send a Seesaw message) by tomorrow Friday 28th July, so we can confirm numbers and ensure we purchase an appropriate amount of materials for the night.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
