Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

FIRE CARRIER COMMISSIONING CEREMONY

At last week's assembly our new Fire Carriers,  were commissioned into their roles with a special ceremony that included a commitment service with a fire blessing. We look forward to them working with our existing Fire Carrier students to support our community in gaining a greater knowledge and understanding of indigenous culture and traditions.

YEAR 5 AND 6 PRAYER INITIATIVES

This term I am looking forward to having our Year 5 and 6 students taking the lead in a few of our prayer activities.  The Year 6s will be working in groups to plan prayer services for each of our classes and the Year 5s will be preparing some of our Wednesday Morning Whole School Prayers.  Opportunities such as this are of great value for the children as it enables them to integrate a wide variety of skills such as researching, writing, digital technology, oral language for formal presentation, cooperative ability etc for a specific purpose, while also developing a greater understanding of the process and format of these types of prayer celebrations.
