From the Community Engagement Committee

Trivia & Bingo Night

The Community Engagement Committee continues to be busy planning exciting events and activities for this year and next. Just a reminder that Banyule Primary’s main social and fundraiser event of the year, the 90s bingo & trivia night, is being held on Friday 1st September in the school gym. We are raising funds for the brand new playground for our children to enjoy.

Tickets available from the link below.

Thank you to those who have already purchased tickets, those who are helping with the planning and preparations for the event, and to those who have donated items for the auction. We are continuing to accept donations, so please think about which of the options work for you to assist (donations from home, contribution to the GroupTogether or donations from your business/workplace). It is sure to be a wonderful evening!

Sausage Sizzle

There will be a lunchtime sausage sizzle being held for the students on Wednesday 13th September. More details will be coming soon about how to order. We are needing volunteers on the day to assist with cooking the BBQ and delivering food to classes. We know some grandparents are keen to help also, and they are welcome! Please reach out to Nicola Hainsworth 0424 408 225 if you (or a grandparent) can help.

End of Term Catch Ups

Our committee is also keen reignite end of term catch ups on the oval (or the undercover area if the weather is not great), so it would be wonderful if you can come along on Friday 15th September from 2:30pm, bring a picnic and picnic blanket, and settle in for a wonderful afternoon catching up with the school community.

Second-Hand Uniform Stalls

We are also planning on holding a second-hand uniform stall to fundraise for the school, as well as holding a meet and greet cuppa for new prep parents during the first transition day in November. This will be a wonderful opportunity for current prep parents to meet with new parents to welcome them to our school, and share some experiences of your little ones starting school. If you have any uniform items in very good condition, that you no longer need and are happy to donate to the school, we would be very appreciative if you could please drop them into the school office at your earliest convenience.

We will continue to provide updates on activities throughout the year. If you have any suggestions or wish to be involved, please let us know.
