Mullauna Music

Mid-Year Debut Concert - May 2023

The Newest Music Stars Showing Their Talent!

Thursday 18 May, saw the newest stars of Mullauna’s music program shine on stage for

their debut. It was beautiful to see over 40 new musicians display their talent and everything they’ve learned so far, in just 2 months of playing, to open and close our first concert for 2023. Congratulations all on such a wonderful show!

Conversely, there was so much to show off regarding ensembles and bands that the college has produced so far this year. From the extremely talented Woodwind Ensemble to the most experienced band in the college, the Wind Symphony, playing some of the best from INXS and a real favourite, Declaration Overture. There were also some great performances from the guitar ensemble, concert band, percussion ensemble, and stage band.

We also welcomed some very special guests from different schools who came and performed with us this year as part of the two VET bands. The VET music performance program includes Mullauna students Harry Jones, Ryan Alexander, and Ethan Oxley in the first performing band, and KayLi Pollard, Tynan Forster, and Ryan Taylor in the second performing band. Performing with us was Alex Dillon from Marta Christi College in the first band; Max Bacareza from Fairhills high school and Josh Davies from Scoresby Secondary College in the second band. We are very thankful to these students for taking the time to come and join our music program and perform on the night.

There are also some other people that we need to congratulate and that is our sensational Year 12s who received their trophies for their excellent service to our music program. These are awarded for a full 6 years of high school participation in the music program. Congratulations to Kiralee Hiscock, Sierra Scott, Rachel McClive, Angie Tran, Phoebe Dou, Nathan Thomas, James Coulthard, Phoebe Sutherland and Lyssie Jenkins for their incredible tenacity for our music program. Only one concert left to go!

Lastly, thank you to all the parents who came along on the night it was great to see so many new faces filling our PAC. We very much look forward to seeing you all later in the year for our theme concert, ‘Around the World.’

Thank you also to Ms Kathleen Robinson, Mr Michael Harvey and Mr Adam Verrel for their work behind the scenes. Thank you to Abbie, Ada and their crew for their work on the lighting for their work as stage crew.
