From the Principal

Dear parents and carers

Welcome to week 5

Congratulations to our 2022 Children's University Graduates.  I had the privilege of presenting the girls and boys at last night's ceremony conducted at Bonython Hall on The University of Adelaide grounds. Children's University is an innovative program that engages children and young people in exciting, out-of-school learning opportunities to increase their chances for educational achievement and rewards them for taking responsibility for their own learning. Children’s University works with community and cultural institutions, supports the development of school-based clubs and activities, and provides many opportunities for parents and communities to engage in the education of our young people (because they are our future).  To be involved, participants must be between the ages of 5 and 14 years, with 15 to 18 years old students offered the chance to participate as volunteers and leaders.  A big thank you to Mrs Helen Voiklis for all her wonderful work to ensure to students are supported throughout the year and is our star coordinator for the night.

Our year 6 cohort entertained us with their musical, "Super Stan". Under the direction of Mrs Williams, the students did a fantastic job. The cast can't wait to perform for their families and friends this evening.

The School Board has a couple of vacancies in 2023, if this is an avenue of volunteering you would be interested in exploring, please give me a call or catch me in the yard.

We will conclude the year as a community with a Carols Evening on Thursday, December 8. This will be a chance to gather as community for the final time in 2022 and farewell some departing staff.  At the conclusion of the school year we will say good-bye to Miss Burton, Miss French, Mrs Maloney, Mrs Angelino (2 year contract with CESA), Mrs Agnew and Miss Jurkovic.  I hope to see you all at the event, there is further information contained in today's edition.
