GRADE 5-6 UPDATE

Hello 5/6 families,

How amazing was Monday night? The students put on a fabulous performance, showcasing all their hard work from the last few terms. It was hard to believe just how fast the night seemed to go after a long three hours of practice earlier in the day. But it all came together on the night, with the students putting their all into their singing, dancing, acting, acrobatics and marimba playing. A big thank you to Thais and Desiree for all their hard work in putting together such an amazing production....even after a small delay!

Cricket/Netball:

Last week the 5/6 students participated in the District Cricket/Netball Day, where they enjoyed the opportunity to play against other schools within Castlemaine. Both our cricket and netball teams did an amazing job, displaying great sportsmanship and skill. A big thank you to Jo Rhone, Janette and Sean Grant for coaching three of our teams on the day.

Reading:

This week we explored Readers Theatre. This is where the students perform in groups, and practice using their voice to depict characters from texts. Through practicing and performing two different scripts, students worked on improving their pace, phrasing, character voice, accuracy and expression. Some of the students certainly had their pirate voice on as they presented 'Our Teacher was a Pirate'.

Upcoming events:

  • Thursday 8th December - Grade 6 Graduation
  • Tuesday 13th December - Grade 6 Orientation Day at CSC

Have a fabulous weekend,
