Dear Families and Friends,
As announced earlier in the week via an emailed letter to all families, over the next few months, St Justin's will be undertaking some minor refurbishments. Works will include:
Works will official commence next Tuesday 22nd November. In preparation, much has already been done.
We need to hand the classrooms over to the builders on Tuesday 22nd November - we anticipate that all works will be completed by the end of February 2023.
Moving forward into 2023:
Whilst we are very excited to be starting our works, we are also very mindful of the need to keep things as normal as possible. We are extremely grateful that Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), Black Sheep Construct (the assigned builders) and Architecture Matters P/L (our architects) have worked so diligently to ensure our project will take place with minimal disruption to student learning. We are also extremely appreciative of all staff and students who have had to make changes to accommodate these works - it’s certainly a big task packing up rooms and moving. We wish everyone well.
As always, should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
IMPORTANT: Only parents who have offered to help on the day and who have been contacted by Mr Johnson may enter the track and field area during events. Please be reminded that all volunteers must register at the registration tent - lanyards can also be collected from there.
All Parent helpers are required to have a WWCC number and to have also had the required interview with either Mr. Torpey or Mrs. Herbison.
Yesterday we welcomed our 2023 Prep students for their first transition session
Follow up Transition sessions:
Due to an ongoing shortage of School Crossing Supervisors, there will be no supervisor available to cover the crossing at the corner of Jells Rd & Grandview Rd, Wheelers Hill on the following dates & times:
A reminder that St Justin’s is a 'Sun Smart School' and as a result, throughout October to the end of April, students are required to wear a sun protective school hat that protects the face, neck and ears. Please make sure that your child’s hat is clean, in good condition and clearly labelled. New hats can be purchased from Academy Uniforms. Students will also be encouraged to wear broad-spectrum water resistant sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and to be responsible for its reapplication throughout the day. Students are welcome to bring their own sunscreen (not to share) or apply in the mornings before coming to school. As always, students are also encouraged to have a drink bottle.
We ask that you have all medical forms and Medical Authority forms filled out, up to date and uploaded to Operoo. This is especially needed in cases of emergency. Thank you!
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
Have a great weekend.
Take care,
Mr Torpey
