MCC competing in the State Chess Finals!

Marian Catholic College competing in the State Chess Finals!After a convincing run taking out the NSW Junior Schools Chess Competition in for the Riverina, our team of chess masters are taking on the might of Merewether High School this coming Wednesday at 9am.

Bhavya Chaudhari, Will Lancaster and Oliver Penedo, ably led by Elemeniko Valele will be playing four games of chess at the same time. These are ranked from board one to board four.Should a majority of boards win, that team will be crowned the champion. Should we have a draw, board four is discounted and a clear victor emerges.

Given our success thus far, as the coordinator I'm very proud of our team of year 8s. After all, what other sport allows year 7 students to compete against year 12?
