National Volleyball comes to TC!

On Saturday, 29 October, Trinity College was fortunate to host round four of the Australian Volleyball League (AVL) with WA STEEL men’s and women’s teams taking on NSW Phoenix.   WA Steel’s men’s team had three Trinity Old Boys playing- Daniel Fitzgerald (’18), Jake Reid (’14) and Nick Butler (’12).

Prior to these AVL matches, eight teams from Trinity, Greenwood SHS and Mercedes College converged for games and skills sessions. The games were all contested with a friendly and competitive spirit. Our volleyball club also provided lunch for students from all three schools.  The students then returned to the Sports Centre, where they added to the great atmosphere whilst watching Volleyball at a very high level.

Tom Leishman Memorial Match

The Tom Leishman Memorial Match was great success again this year. Congratulations to the Trinity 1st XI for taking home the Cup for the first time since 2019 (the same year TC won the Darlot). The Leishman XI batted first and made 123 from their 20 overs. Charlie Watson & Matt Jenkins were the pick of the Trinity bowlers and Harry Costa led the way in the field taking an amazing diving catch. The First XI chased down this total in 16 overs, 3 wickets down. Man of the Match went to Cruz with his great performance in anchoring the innings.

Thank you to all involved for making this day a memorable one and helping to raise over $700 for cancer research.

All Hands on Deck - Call for Volunteers

The 4th Annual Trinity Rowing Regatta (AKA The Battle of the Bridges) is fast approaching.

On Saturday, 26 November the cream of PSA rowers will battle it out on the picturesque waterways that surround Trinity College.

The Trinity Rowing Club are seeking volunteers to assist on the day, in the following categories;

  • On-water assistance: specifically dinghy driving and Marshalling, any volunteers in this category must have their skipper’s ticket
  • We are also seeking several larger craft if possible, to act as start and finish platforms, as well as marshalling the ends of the racing area. If you have a suitable water vessel, and can spare it and yourself for the morning, please let us know.
  • BBQ volunteers: the all important role of providing a top-notch cook up for the kids food and public sales
  • Foot-path marshalling: volunteers to slow traffic and warn pedestrians/cyclists to be wary in front of the school. Unfortunately, there will be no authority to make citizens arrests
  • Parking marshals: don a high-viz vest and keep all car parking in line. It is especially important this year, as we need to clear Gloucester park by 12:30pm
  • Miscellaneous volunteers: to accommodate the small jobs required on the day.

You can volunteer for the on-water roles by emailing directly to doyle.matthew@trinity.wa.edu.au, or alternatively we will be using Sign-up Genius to simplify volunteering, and will be starting to call for positions to be filled early in the week beginning Monday, 7 November.

Senior Sport Expectations

An email was sent out to all Year 11 parents this week in regards to the expectations of the students to still be participating in sport until the end of this year. During the exam break and the proceeding weeks, Year 11 students are expected to make themselves available for all fixtures up until the final round against Wesley on Saturday, November 26.

They should also be attempting to attend as many training sessions as possible during this time. Communication with the teacher/manager/coach is extremely important throughout the last 4 weeks of PSA sport.
