Principal's Report - Mr Pitt

Dear Parents/ Carers,

BE KIND TO YOURSELF

The end of term is fast approaching, although it does sound really strange to be saying that, considering the challenges we have had along the way. As much as we talk about learning and posting work on Seesaw and following a plan each and every day, it is important to be kind to yourself. Laughing, walking to the park, playing a board game or just sitting around chatting on the phone to a friend are some of things we should be encouraging. So please take a deep breath in and be kind to yourself. In Week 9, we have organised an online Disco and in Week 10, on the last day of term, we have renamed it ‘Work Free Family Friday’. Look out for more information in the learning grids.

STAFF NEWS

Last week we farewelled Ms Berry, who commenced maternity leave. We wish Ms Berry and her husband all the very best as they prepare for the birth of their first baby – fun times ahead! We welcome back Miss Marcus (M-W) and Miss Jesuadson (Th-F) who will be taking over from Ms Berry for the rest of the year.

PARACHUTE VISITS WITH MR PITT

Thank you to Miss David and 3 Dragon Fruits and Miss Boog and Kinder Orange for sharing some of the learning they have been doing this term. Seeing lots of smiling faces reminds me that everyone continues to do their best. Well done 3D and KO!

BOOK WEEK

Last week we celebrated Book Week, with this year’s theme being ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds and Other Worlds.’ I was super impressed to see so many students and staff take part in the activities on offer. Check out some of the pics in this edition of the newsletter. 2/3A even got a video message from an author!

TERM 4

As you aware there will be a staggered return to school in Term 4. As this date gets closer, I will be in a better position to inform the community what these plans will look like. Unfortunately, most events planned in Term 4 have already been cancelled. I would also like to inform parents that the Opportunity Class Placement Test scheduled for 6 October, 2021 has been delayed. Parents/ carers of any Year 4 child completing the test will be advised of the delay.

KINDERGARTEN ENROLMENT 2022

It is now that time of the year to commence the process for Kindergarten enrolment for 2022. If your child is turning 5 years of age before 31 July, 2022 – please complete the steps in the flyer on the next page. Due to COVID-19 and the current NSW Lockdown, the enrolment processes will be completed online, however we will be able to assist you. If you have any questions OR need assistance, please call the school. It is important that we have all children who are ready for Kindergarten enrolled as soon as possible.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY

This Sunday is Father’s Day and on behalf of the Fairvale staff, I would like to wish all our dads, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers and other important males in our lives all the very best for a lovely day. I know the celebration this year will no doubt look very different but I still hope the sun is shining on you and that there are smiles from the people who care about you the most – your family! For me, this year will be a little tricky eating my annual breakfast in bed with our puppy Ruby, wanting to share my bacon and eggs!

For now stay safe, stay connected and please reach out and contact the school if you need any assistance.
