Important Information

Reference Information

  1. SSG's (Student Support Group) meetings will go ahead Tuesday August 17th and Thursday August 19th of next week over Zoom. Thank you to all the families that have booked in times for these two days. It will take some juggling, so please be patient, as there maybe a few changes to small group work as class teachers attend the SSG's.
  2. Healthy Harold has had to be cancelled for this year as the program cannot go ahead next week and there is no chance to rebook for this year. Families that have paid will be credited the $10.00 (Year 6 will receive their refund with swimming refund or if swimming was not paid please request a refund form) to their school account.
  3. Reminder: Senior Swimming refund forms needed to be submitted by the end of last week.
  4. As mentioned already Science Night has had to be cancelled and the Senior Maths night will be postponed. In their place their will be a Parent Wellbeing Night which will showcase the programs and routines we have in place to support student both during remote Learning and when they return to onsite. With he challenges everyone is experiencing at the moment we thought that this information would be helpful for parents to understand what we put in place to support students through these times. Look out for a Zoom invite for next Thursday 19th August 6.00pm - 7.00pm.
  5. If your child is currently participating in the Tutor Learning Initiative or MiniLit/MaqLit program you may be contacted by your child's tutor.
  6. Book Week: Will go ahead but our parade will be modified with students dressing up on the Wednesday August 25th. If we are onsite, we will have the parade in class and post class photos.
  7. Disco: 27th August on Zoom. Our in house DJ has once again agreed to lead our School Disco for the Kinder through to Year 6. There will be a small pack for every child to take to help celebrate our Glow in the Dark theme.

Some additional information about Feedback during Remote Learning:

  • Thank you to all families for your support as students get on each morning to Check In and then complete their tasks. Great to see all students attending their small group Literacy and Numeracy sessions.
  • Students may not get through all of their tasks on the allocated day and may need to do them on a different day as they manage their timetable.
  • Commenting and feedback from staff will be on certain pieces of work, this may alternate between Mathematics and English across the week. There will be a minimum of one piece of work commented on each day. Students also of course receive face to face feedback during their small group teaching sessions.
  • Specialist teaches will comment on work the following day and this will often be the case for classroom teachers. Many of our Specialists teachers work part time and so their feedback and commenting will be done on the days they would normally work in the school.
  • Work uploaded late in the day will often not receive comments, as staff are planning for the following day/week and they are still required to complete Professional Learning and administration tasks too.
