Principal's Message

Term 3 Week 4

Thank you MPRPS&K Community

We have made another staff video as a way of connecting but also thanking our wonderful community for all of your support during this lockdown and Remote Learning. We cannot do it without you and the messages of support whether to individual teachers or to our school email address are very much appreciated. As staff juggle their families, planning, teaching and giving feedback, just as you are juggling, please know we appreciate everything you are doing. Thank you to Tegan Kitteringham for again putting together our staff dance video - hopefully it brings a smile to your face at this time.

Assembly

Thank you everyone for your kind comments on our recent Assembly, I had not expected the book reading to be so well received. My grandson must be a more difficult audience! Will have to get thinking for this week.

Student Support Group  (SSG's) Meetings

This Tuesday and Thursday teachers and Matt and myself will hold the SSG meetings for funded students via zoom. Thank you to parents for your flexibility around using video conferencing. Look out for invites with zoom details and we look forward to speaking with families across the week.

Survey Time Again

We recently held our Parent/Teacher interviews and this week we will hold our SSG meetings and although their is the opportunity to regularly communicate through email as we did last year we seek feedback from our parents (and students) on how Remote Learning is going. Last year we responded to feedback to develop a program that balanced students, staff and parent needs. This involved developing routines and communicating, the weekly schedules, a whole Specialist day, feedback guidelines, differentiated small group instruction and the introduction of Choice Boards to allow students to engage with a range of tasks. Surveys will close Friday 20th August at 3.00pm.

Thank you Matt O'Hern

Matt has been acting Assistant Principal since Term 4 2020 while Amanda Nelson is on Family Leave. Amanda will return Monday - Wednesday in Term 4. While we look forward to Amanda's return we will miss Matt. We have been fortunate that Matt has been such a great addition to our school over this time and we could not have asked for a more dedicated and supportive Assistant Principal. I have appreciated his advice and commitment to our school and I wish him the very best in his future roles. He will be an asset to any school he joins. Matt will finish at MPRPS at the end of this term.
