Parents & Friends

♥️If you’re struggling at the moment, please know you’re not alone. Thankfully the sunshine lifted some of the gloom here over the weekend, and we’ve also been occupying our time baking. We tried this recipe on the weekend and it was a hit with the kids - they loved decorating with the M&M’s (just don’t expect it to meet any nutritional goals) https://celebratingsweets.com/soft-and-chewy-mm-cookies/

🍽 Leonie has organised a Picture Plate Fundraiser for the Kindergarten and due to popularity, she has kindly offered to open it up to the school community too! You can find the information and the order form in the Parent Facebook Group - just check the files. Thank you Leonie - such a great idea.

(Pssst! Great Christmas Present for the Grandparents!!! 😄)

💝Jess Sterritt Walker is keen to organise a parent support group for those who have children with additional needs. She is trying to see whether waiting to have the meetings in person, or over Zoom would be a better option, so please get in touch if you’re interested and let her know your preference.

Jess says: I am seeking expressions of interest from those who would be interested in attending parent support group meetings.  I have previously run these meetings with great response and if the need is there I am more than happy to start them up again. These meetings are a safe place for parents who have children with additional needs to get together informally over a cuppa and share experiences and advice. Please reach out via email if you would be interested in attending. All attendees are asked to maintain confidentiality about discussions at the meetings and the school has no active involvement in the meetings.

🥣 Jess also co-ordinates support for school families through an anonymous volunteer community. Your family, or a family you know, may be having a challenging time due to the latest lockdown.

Please know that you can reach out to Jess to let her know what you need - eg. groceries essentials, some snacks or a few home cooked meals. Jess reaches out to her volunteers who provide what’s needed and both parties stay anonymous to each other.

If you need help, or if you’d like to help, you  can email Jess at:

That’s it from me. I hope everyone in our school community is coping as well as possible. This is an incredibly tough time for many of us, and it’s also a time to not only offer your support to neighbours and friends if you can, but reach out to others if you are struggling.
