TERM 3
Good luck to all our brass and strings students who will be able to take their face-to-face AMEB exams this month. Unfortunately, the piano and wind had to be cancelled, but many students have elected to do the ‘online’ repertoire exams. Well done to all in preparing for these exams and please contact me if you’d like to submit a video of one of your performance pieces and I will feature it in the newsletter.
During last week’s lockdown, students were encouraged to participate in a PASSION PROJECT which could be anything the students had a passion for e.g. Lego, drawing, sport, dance or music. I was delighted to receive the following videos from two of our keen musicians who were keeping up the practice despite the lockdown.
Kayley Lett – has been learning the violin for only a short time, but she is already flying along. Kayley also loves to sing and here she is with a snippet of Frank Sinatra’s “High Hopes”.
Daniel Kerdic – has shown admirable dedication in preparing for his upcoming Grade 1 trumpet exam, this fantastic performance clearly shows the benefits of that practice. Daniel is performing “The Birdie Song”.
Thank you to all the families that have already returned their hire forms to take part in the Year 4 instrumental program. Please remember to sign and return these forms before Thursday to enable students to be able to take their instruments home.
Assembly Performances Junior Dance and Beginner Dance will perform their dance routines in assembly in Week 4 and 7. These will be videoed and shared in the newsletter for families to view.
If you have any questions about the information, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Performing Arts Office at performingarts@kws.nsw.edu.au
