It has been an exciting time for Debating at O'Connor Catholic College. Last Term we were lucky to be involved in the NGS Super/AIS virtual debating competition and the team of Anna Newsome, Gabby Williams, Ava Vaughan and Mia Vaughan has made it through to the next round in the competition. Their next debate will be held this Thursday 29 October. against Newcastle Grammar School. 

The Catholic Schools Office has decided to replicate the format and Kerrie Pridis is organising a CSO virtual debating competition for Stage 4 and 5 which will involve students from O'Connor Catholic College, McCarthy Catholic College Tamworth, Holy Trinity School Inverell, St Mary's College Gunnedah and St Philomena's School Moree.  The competition will run over Weeks 3, 5, 7 and 9 and two teams have been entered. 

The Stage 4 Team consists of Mia Vaughan, Tahlia Bird, Abi van Eyk and Maddie Porter. The Stage 5 Team will be made up of Roie Wood, Angus Scrivener, Jean Boshoff and Joel Croft.
