Sport Report

ASC Target Shooting

ASC Target Shooters had a great Term 3 of sport, despite the challenges we faced with Covid restrictions including the temporary closure of one of our ranges. The team has mostly been travelling out to the Guyra SSAA Range on Wednesday sport afternoons. This range has facilities for many different disciplines including rimfire benchrest, silhouettes and centrefire. We also practice using a variety of rifles with open sights, peep sights and scopes.

We have been working to improve our accuracy in a standing position which has brought some terrific results. On our last sports afternoon we shot clay targets. This was a first for many of the students, and quite a challenge with the typical strong, gusty wind conditions our area is famous for.

I would like to congratulate and thank the students for their excellent behaviour and willingness to have a go at every challenge I have put to them --- well done!! A big thank you also to Mr Polson for driving the bus each week and happily helping with our chosen sport. We all have a lot of fun whilst continuing to learn and develop our shooting skills.

I'm looking forward to more great results throughout Term 4 with a terrific group of students.
