Relay For Life - Beena Believers

THIS SATURDAY 24 OCTOBER! FROM 11.30am UNTIL 11am SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER

                      The Relay is this weekend!

Registration can only be made at the track on Saturday as online registration is now closed.

Please keep asking for donations from family friends and neighbours. I do have a receipt book if anyone requires a receipt.

This year there will  be loads of activities to do for young and old.  While the parents are walking or running around the track with the relay baton, children can have heaps of fun on the sidelines or vice versa!

The opening ceremony begins at 11.45am with the Survivors & Carers Lap at 12 noon.  Come on down in your favourite team's footy colours at 1pm, then at 1.45pm there will be activities with the theme, 'Girls Just Want To Have Fun'.

At 2pm there will be a Kids Scavenger Hunt and also Celebrity Heads.

Between 5pm and 6pm, Kieran Dickson and his band will be playing, followed by the Bob Mileo Band until 7.45pm.

At 7.45pm there will be a Candlelight Ceremony and Silent Lap held to reflect on why we do the relay.  This is a very moving time with candles lit all along the track.  If you are wanting to purchase a candle bag for $2, please remember to bring along a small can of food, which will be placed in the bag to serve as a paperweight. After the relay, this food will be donated to another charity.

After this reflective time, the night time fun begins!

At 9pm come dressed up with glow sticks galore! Hang them from your ears, around your neck, around your wrists and ankles … everywhere!

At 11pm we need a male volunteer to come dressed as Miss Relay 2015!!!!! You can  be as imaginative as possible ….  make up, wigs, stockings, handbag, nails painted, etc!

At midnight, we have madness!!!  Crazy hats, crazy hair, outrageous costumes … anything mad!  (The Onesies Hour at 1am is an all-time favourite of mine.)  Nice and warm (sometimes even hot!) walking around in our onesies … awesome!  Then at 3am get into your pyjamas for the Pyjama Hour!  There will be plenty to do to keep you going all night long.

If you choose not to partake during the night, but still want to be part of it, bring along your tent and sleeping bag and camp under the stars!

At 7am there will be a Work Out Circuit to wake you up, but if that isn’t enough, then yoga is also provided at 8am.

There is also a gold coin donation breakfast available.  Smells delicious while walking around so nice and early.

There will be food vans present throughout the day and night, as well as coffee stands.

The final lap will take place at 9.55am on Sunday morning with the Closing Ceremony  at 10am. Please note that the relay has been cut short this year by two hours!

We hope that this has inspired you to participate along with the Beena Believers Team and to join in all the fun and activities on the day.
