Principal's Report

“Joy is the holy fire that keeps our purpose warm and our intelligence aglow.” Helen Keller

All of our students returned today and it was wonderful to have them all back.  The joy that was felt by students and teachers throughout the day was palpable. They were wearing masks but this did not hinder their ability to connect with each other during learning sessions.  Many have returned with longer legs and longer hair.  Their physical growth we could see but it was when speaking to so many of them this morning that it was evident that they have grown in their thinking about the world as well.  They expressed the value of connection and collaboration that school provides them.  It is important to maintain this optimism towards school and the importance it plays in our students’ lives.  We are delighted to have everyone here.

Some have you may have noticed a camera out the front of the school this morning.  We had Channel 10 come down to talk to us about having our students back on-site.  It will be on the news tonight.

This Friday is World Teacher’s Day. We want to acknowledge the outstanding commitment and dedication of our teachers by thanking them for their work throughout the many transitions.  They have shown students that being flexible and adaptable is the best way to face our changing world.  Thank you to all of our wonderful teachers!

Parents will be invited to attended a virtual Q&A evening on Webex.  This is a follow on from our event last term.  We will provide updates on Stage 2 and other events happening across this term.  We hope you can join us on the night.
