Division Swimming amendment: Apologies to Gemma Cook for leaving you out of the last bulletins article on Division Swimming. An oversight on my behalf.
Congratulations to Gemma who after her results from Division, progressed to the State Swimming Championships along with Makenzi Kranen. The Championships were held at the Melbourne Aquatic Centre in Melbourne.
State Swimming
Gemma had a very successful day at the State Championships at the Aquatic Centre in Melbourne on Friday 28th April.
Results:
1st - 50m freestyle
- 50m backstroke
2nd - 50m breaststroke
Well done Gemma.
Congratulations to Makenzi Kranen who also made it to the State Swimming Championships. Makenzi swam brilliantly on the day and is to be congratulated on getting to this level of competition.
School House Sports
Monday saw the running of our annual house athletics at the velodrome in perfect conditions. Many thanks to Little Athletics, in particular Ben Cruickshank, for their help in marking the oval and setting up the equipment. A big thank you to all those parents who attended the event and a special thank you to those who helped. It is always greatly appreciated. Thank you to the students for their efforts on the day. Information regarding the district carnival on May 8th will be sent home early next term.
There were three records either broken or equalled-
Levi Orgill in the 12yrs long jump equalled the record with a distance of 4.16m
Aiden Cook in the 10's high jump beat the old record by 12cms and cleared 1.35m and
Ryder Pedlow set a new standard in the 10's 200m in the time of 33.94sec.

We welcome back to Mr Hughes who has returned from leave.
Winter Sport: Round 1 of Winter Sport is on Friday 5th May against Foster Primary School. Students will travel to Foster. Footy, Netball and Basketball are being held at the footy grounds. TBall and Soccer are being held at the Primary School. Please sign in at the school office before going onto the school grounds if you are popping over for a look.
Round 2 will be against Korumburra Primary School and will be held at St Laurence's and Mary MacKillop College on Friday 12th May.
District Athletics is to be held on Monday 8th May at the Velodrome. We have 57 students competing. Good luck team Laurence. Parents are welcome to attend. A program will go home shortly.
3-6 House Cross Country is being held at Mary MacKillop College on Thursday 11th May. Parents are welcome to attend. Please sign in at the College office before going onto the school grounds.
Helpers needed: We will need parent helpers to stand the course and would greatly appreciate any offer to help. If you are able to assist please contact the school.
