Year 12 students have all these resources at their disposal
Year 11 students, Bess and Tajwyn are the Arthur Grassby Scholarships successful candidates for 2023. The scholarships is to provide our younger generation with an insight into the Gippsland connection to the Kokoda Trail and the sacrifices made by men from this community so they can enjoy the lives they live today.
The award is an opportunity for a student to join a Kokoda Trek with ‘Adventure Kokoda’ in July. Arthur Grassby, of Bairnsdale, fought with the 39th Battalion and was in the first Australian troops to encounter the Japanese at Kokoda.
We look forward to hearing all about their preparation and the experience of this amazing adventure.

Year 10 Outdoor Education camp
Last term the Year 10 Outdoor Ed started their 2 day hike at Lake Tali Karng. On the first day they attempted to hike from McFarlene saddle carpark to Nyimba campsite but unfortunately they had to turn back due to bad weather and a few unexpected injuries. Once the group returned to the carpark they set up camp and prepared for the freezing cold night.
The next morning both teachers and students were relived to head down to Licola rather then attempt the hike again. After setting up camp at Licola, the group treated themselves to a warm pie before heading on a small walk. During the walk the group tried and failed, to keep dry while river crossing.
That night teachers and students gathered around the fire to enjoy marshmallows and hot chocolates, before going off to play spotlight to finish off the night.
