School Wide

Positive Behaviour Support

Tiered Fidelity Inventory

The above title (TFI) is something that is carried out by  our PBS coach and her team to ensure that our school is embedding PBS into our school culture. We are proud of the work we are doing with PBS and how we are doing this work to better our student's social and academic progress.  On Monday 19th November, our PBS coach, Lisa, and her  team came out to Kilsyth to observe our environment and ask staff and students questions. These questions were:

- Can you tell us your school values?

- Have you received a feather in the last couple of weeks?

- If so, what was your acknowledgement for?

We needed to have at least 70% of students name our school expectations.  We had 90%!

The feedback they gave us was that there was a relaxed and calm feel to the school when they walked in and around.  They were very impressed with staff being out while the music was going and commented on the orderly environment when students lined up and came into class for learning.

So now we are going to have another TFI in 2019 – we need to have x3 pass results for TFI’s to move onto the next coloured level… we are currently working towards our bronze accreditation. Lisa and her team also suggested that we be a model school as we have achieved the highest result in our area.  They would like to do an article for their newsletter (come and take some photos) which is great to hear.  They believe we have achieved a lot in a little time.  We still have lots of actions going forward to improve our results.  I just feel really chuffed with this result from everyone who is a part of Kilsyth.

The TFI included  lots of other elements such as our PBS team, behaviour definitions and policy, classroom procedures, behaviour and teaching expectations and data collection.

The best news from our inventory was that Lisa and her team suggested that we be a model school as we have achieved the highest result in our area. How good is that?  They would like to do an article for their department newsletter (come and take some photos) which is great for KPS.  They believe we have achieved a lot in a little time.  We still have lots of actions going forward to improve our results and keep our school culture positive and sustainable.  The staff at KPS really feel chuffed with this result from everyone who is a part of Kilsyth. It's everyone working together to achieve our school wide goals.
