Junior School

Heading

The junior school team would like to acknowledge the respect, pride and integrity the junior school students have shown towards the senior school students during the exam period. Our students recognize that it is currently a very important time for our Senior school students and have demonstrated outstanding college values.

This term the Respectful Relationships Challenge program is running once again with the last two days taking place for year 8 and 9 students. The first day of the term took place on October 24 where students continued to understand the importance of being respectful and learning about strategies and supports available to all people. The last day of the program will be on November 28 and looks to deliver some more thought provoking, relevant and topical content for our students.

Our Year 9 students will also be undertaking exams for both English and Maths. These exams will be held Wednesday 14 November and Thursday 15 November. The year 9 exams enable students to develop the necessary skills and abilities required for sitting exams in their future years of senior schooling. We wish them all the very best and understand they have all worked very long and hard with their studies this semester.

Additional to the college curriculum, the Junior school students will soon be going out on end of year activities and excursions in order to help celebrate what has been a very successful school year. Some of the activities that have been planned for our students is an excursion to Gumbuya Park, Ten Pin Bowling, as well as an excursion to catch a new release film. Permission forms will be available shortly.

When at school during this period, students will also be participating in class activities run by different teachers ranging from physical activities, Christmas card making and decorating. Students are reminded that although the Year 12 students have finished and the Year 10 and 11 students will finish soon, they will continue to learn and expectations remain with work effort, homework and assignment completion as we head towards the end of the year.

A reminder that Homework Club will continue to take place in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm- 4 pm, as we understand the need for students to seek assistance in the completion of their final assessment tasks for the year.
