H.S.I.E

Mrs Cherie Stoessel

Students in Year 8 HSIE experienced feudalism through a simulation game/role play in which they were randomly allocated social positions in European mediaeval society : Monarchs, Lords and Barons, Knights or Serfs.  They then had to exchange oaths of loyalty in exchange for food and protection.  Students came to appreciate the inequalities in relationships that existed in feudal Europe and how unfair it was that no matter if they were King or Serf they could not change their position in society.

Mathematics

Mr Mark Harris

Learning in the Mathematics KLA has been progressing well this term. Great work has been done by a lot of students.

Some really challenging problems have been attempted and solved.

We are seeing some really excellent Mathematicians evolve under the expert tutelage of our Mathematics teaching staff.

Year 12 are approaching the Trial HSC examination period and have been working hard at completing the Stage 6 courses as well as revising for the upcoming exams. We wish them all the best in the upcoming exams.

I would like to thank Mr McLeish for taking on the role of Acting Mathematics Leader of Learning over the next 4 weeks while I am on leave.

Strong Girls

Last week Mrs Biddle and Ms Clydsdale started a girls weights training group. Girls from Year 7, 8 and 9 are invited to come along to sessions each Wednesday and Friday in Break B at the weights shed. We had a fantastic turn out last week and are so pumped to see the girls joining in and having fun!

We encourage girls to come along, enjoy each other's company and challenge themselves in a fun and supportive environment.
