Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth
We are delighted to have our students back and readjusting to the new normal. As restrictions continue to ease, several activities which have been postponed will slowly be reintroduced. We will continue to keep the Community informed.
If any families have been affected by COVID19 financially, I encourage you to contact the College Finance Office. We endeavour to help those in need and to ease the financial burden.
Recently I have been on duty at the front gate, where each morning and evening, I notice a large volume of traffic doing their drop off and pick up. This area has been designed by traffic officers to safely bring traffic in and out of the school grounds. However, it needs everyone to cooperate so that safety is not compromised. I urge you to please use the designated drop off points. Also, to give right of way to the school buses as there have been some occasions where the buses have been unable to enter the school grounds as people have been double-parked and blocked the right of way.
Currently, we are in discussions with The City of Greater Dandenong in looking at alternative options that will assist our growing number of families in the morning and afternoon. I thank Cr Lana Formoso and the Senior Engineer Team for their response and willingness to assist our School Community.
In the meantime, please be patient, courteous and obliging to the existing Traffic Management Plan.
On another matter, the College needs you. If you want to assist by nominating to be an Advisory Committee Member or a Finance Committee Member, there are opportunities to get involved and assist the College in its quest to continue to improve. You potentially can make a difference. These vacancies have become available as some members have retired after many valuable years of service.
The College Community would like to thank Mr Michael Quin – Chair of the Advisory Committee, Mr Damian Cairns – Chair Finance Committee and member of the College Advisory Committee. Finally, Mrs Helene Diamantopoulos, initially representing St Justin’s Parish, President of the NCCA and of late a staff representative of the Advisory Committee. Each of these members has given so much of their time in assisting the College in its quest to become a ‘School of Choice’ and to provide the absolute best for all those involved in the school. On everyone’s behalf, I thank them sincerely.
If you are interested in assisting the College in this capacity or simply want to have a discussion, please register your interest via the Principal’s office. A formal nomination process will be circulated in due course.
Finally, I thank all families that attended the Virtual Subject Selection Evening. This was specifically designed to assist families and students in making subject decisions for their future years. The College webpage has been updated with specific information to assist you and keep you informed. Please visit www.nazareth.vic.edu.au and go to the Subject Selection section at the top of the page. This takes you to the individual subjects and procedures section. I remind everyone that these choices need to be submitted by 10 August 2021.
Stay safe and God bless.
Mr Sam Cosentino
Principal
