Year 9 fundraiser event - Term 2 2021

Welcome!

We wish to congratulate Mrs Christine Lord on her arrival to Cecil Hills High School as our new Year 9 Deputy Principal and welcome her to our fantastic grade.

Year 9, we're impressed!

Mr Faga, Ms Phan and Mrs Lord have been beyond impressed with Year 9’s resilience and flexible nature when transitioning back to online learning for the first few weeks of Term 3. During this interesting period of learning, we have held live surveys to understand the learning environment our Year 9s were in and here are our findings:

  • Most students study in their bedroom on their desk however, a large majority are learning on their bed.
  • Most students are fitting in their exercise at least 2 - 4 times a week
  • Most students have difficulty waking up or going to bed at a set time.
  • Although the transition to online learning has been smooth, it is often difficult to feel ‘normal’ and as a result, miss face to face interactions with their friends at school.

We have also completed question and answer sessions followed by advice from our Year Advisers, Deputy Principals and the whole grade in the chat group.

Don’t forget, we will be running these sessions every Monday and Friday from 8:35am on Microsoft Teams. Please ensure that all Year 9s are logged in and attending these calls.

We hear you, Year 9! Lock down is never fun or easy to do, however we are all in this together. We hope to see your smiling faces again when we go back to face-to-face teaching.

Ms Vivian Phan and Mr Andrew Faga (Year 9 Year Advisers)
