ART NEWS

What fun filled year we have had in the Art room this year! When we think back over the learning we have experienced and the artwork that has made, we feel such a sense of pride for our incredible students! From our Prep students who began the year, needing assistance with putting on their art smocks and have mastered safely using scissors along with creating many wonderful pieces of artwork, to our Grade 6s who just like the Preps, begun their time at Delacombe PS needing assistance with the basics, but have grown, listened and learnt, and are now ready to step into the world of Secondary school, we truly believe we have the best job in the world! We are extremely privileged to work with our students, nurturing their creativity and encouraging their self-belief in not only their learning abilities, but also their own ideas.

Our students have worked really hard to complete their final formal pieces of artwork and are clearly very proud of themselves!

A big thank you to Mrs Tyler who has taught three of our classes this year; there is always such genuine joy when students learn that Mrs Tyler is taking a teaching load here at Delacombe, and this year, we felt very lucky to have her warmth and experience in the Art room.

Below are a selection of images from the past fortnight:

  • Jimmy from Grade Prep proudly standing with the Christmas trees he helped put up
  • Some of our Grade 5 & 6 students with their Natural Disaster artworks
  • Some of our Prep students with their, “Ladybirds in the Grass” artworks

We wish everyone a safe and peaceful holiday season and look forward to welcoming you all back into the wonderful world of our Art room next year!

Take care,

Mrs Tyler and Mrs S
