Principal's News

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

Welcome back to a new school year. It has been a wonderful start to the new year and the school has a real buzz coming from all the rooms and the garden.

Our new Administration building is on track to be completed by the end of Term 1.

This is very exciting news for our school, therefore we will be moving into this space on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 April.

Term 1 for our students will finish on Tuesday 4 April at 3.15 pm.

Term 2 will commence on Monday 24 April.

We welcome some new teaching staff members to St Louis.

Mr Gene Trutsch in Year 5

My name is Gene Trutsch and I will be teaching the children in 5GT this year. I am very excited to be here at St Louis'. I have heard great things and learnt a bit about St Louis' over the last few years as my children have been involved in the catechist sacrament programs.

Here is a little information about me. Professionally, I have worked as a primary teacher for the past 17 years, the majority at Stella Maris, Beaumaris, where I have most recently taught Years 4 and 5. I have been the Maths, Sustainability and ICT leader over the years, but this year I am really looking forward to being just a classroom teacher. Personally, I live locally in Chelsea Heights. I have a wonderful wife, Cathy, and four children aged 5,8,10 and 12. You may see me around as some of my children are involved in local sports: Chelsea Little Aths and Aspendale Stingrays Soccer. With four children I enjoy any spare moment I get. When I get the chance, I enjoy my new found hobby, sculpting, tennis, bike-riding and getting away for the weekend. I follow Carlton in the AFL, so am clearly a very patient individual, and I love the EPL.

Looking forward to a great year!

Mrs Dominique Rekdale job share in Year 2

My name is Dominique and I’m very excited to be working part time in Grade two at St Louis this year. I started my teaching career in 2013 at Berwick Primary School working full time for a number of years before taking family leave and returning on a part time and casual basis. I live locally with my husband and three children and outside of work I enjoy going for walks and spending time with family and friends. I’m very much looking forward to getting to know all of you and being involved in many of the wonderful things St Louis has to offer.

Mr Nick Byron in Year 4

Hi my name is Nick.

Away from school I love spending time with my two daughters Lucy (6) and Nina (4), running and playing guitar.  Prior to starting my teaching career I managed our family swim school business for more than 10 years. I have always had a passion working with children, after many years teaching swimming I decided to pursue my passion for teaching.  Finishing my Masters of Education 2022 I was given the opportunity to work as a Casual Relief Teacher at St Louis and spent my time in various classrooms across different levels. I couldn't be happier to be given the opportunity to work with such amazing colleagues and a great bunch of year 4 students at St Louis in 2023.

Help in the garden needed

Frank is needing some help in the garden for  weekends and holidays. We would love families to help, or grandparents or a community member. The animals need caring for over the weekend and holidays and Frank can explain the jobs that need doing if anyone can help.

Please contact the office if you are interested.

Working Bee Saturday 18 March 8 am - 12 pm

We are inviting all St Louis' families to our first working bee on Saturday 18 March.

A sausage sizzle will be held during the working bee, just to help to keep you going.

A lists of jobs will be sent out later in the term.

Canteen

The canteen will be serving lunches at 11.15 am. The canteen will not be open for afternoon recess. Children will need to purchase their afternoon snacks at the lunch break or order it in their lunch order.

Enjoy your weekend
