NETBALL

Last weekend saw the U18 girls play their last round of Saturday morning netball for the term. The girls played two games on the day, the first was against Baimbridge where they came out with a win 23-19. They were a bit shaky to start but ended up getting into a rhythm which saw great use of the ball down the court. Their second game was against Monivae where they also won with a score of 30-18, this being their strongest game against this team this season. Everyone put in an amazing effort considering they were already tired from the first game and the very warm conditions. The girls have really jelled as a team throughout the competition and should be extremely proud of their efforts and teamwork.

The final match of the season for the U15 College team could not have ended on a more positive note. The girls played against the Baimbridge U15 team and although they knew that it would be a tough game, they exceeded their expectations and surprised themselves. The girls started the game off in some positions that they would not normally play but they definitely rose to the occasion. Even though it was a hot day, the girls didn’t let this stop them and throughout the game they had strong passes down the court and constantly stayed in front of their players. At the end of the game the girls managed to take a strong win 21-15.

This was a great season of netball. Thank-you to all the players, parents, managers and coaches for participation in this competition. Thank you especially to Mrs Ogle, for organising the teams and making it possible for College to play. Mrs Ogle, Chloe and I all hope to see as many girls as possible sign up for Term One’s (2023) upcoming season. If you have any questions, please let any of us know.
