Health/PE and Sport

The past six months has been busy in the PE area and it is great to have sport back after having none in 2020.

 

Most of our teams made finals on the day. Congratulations to the following teams:

  • Senior Volleyball
  • Intermediate Cricket
  • Intermediate Volleyball
  • Year 7 Volleyball
  • Year 8 Volleyball 
  • Intermediate Boys Soccer

A special congratulations to the following teams, who managed to finish ‘runners up’:

  • Intermediate Badminton: finished 2nd 
  • Senior Girls Netball: finished 2nd 
  • Year 8 Badminton: finished 2nd 
  • Year 8 Netball: finished 2nd 

Well done to all the students who participated and played hard for Fairhills High School.

 

Cross Country

The Knox District Cross Country was held in May at Lewis Park Reserve.  Congratulations to the following students have made it through to Eastern Division to be held at Yarra Glen Racecourse. 

 

Dominic Alison, Jack Burns, Lachlan Isaac, Jake Meerten, Jayden Mitchell, Mathew Pile and Bailey Shelton. A particular standout performance on the day was Ben Ogley who raced in a combined age group and managed to win his race convincingly against his age group and older students. 

 

Fitness Sessions

 

This term the Year 9/10 PE classes were put to the test in a variety of group fitness sessions as part of their fitness unit. Students sweated through three gruelling sessions at Genesis Gym that included boxing, high impact intensity training circuits and cycle.
