Year 9-11 Exams
Exams have an important role in the process of learning and in the whole educational institution.
Exams and tests are a great way to assess what the students have learned with regards to particular subjects. Exams will show what part of the course each student seems to have taken the most interest in and has remembered.
School becomes more demanding as you get older. As you grow as a person, you also do as a student and the school curriculum becomes more demanding. Our VCE students have to undertake final exams at the end of Year 12. These exams allow higher education establishments to assess whether the students applying are going to be able to deal with the work demand and students’ entry into courses is partially dependent on how they perform in their final exams.
One reason for holding exams is to help prepare our Year 12 students for their final exams. So, we hold exams in the earlier years. This year, our Year 9 students participated in the exam process for the first time. Whilst exams can be stressful, we hope that with practice and preparation, our students will become more familiar with the exam process and so find exams less stressful.
The latest Covid-19 lockdown caused a re-scheduling of our exam period. They were held slightly later than originally planned, but we managed to get all the Years 9-11 exams finished. We hope that all our students enjoyed the exam experience and performed well in their chosen subjects.
