Exciting progress on NHS VCE offshore project

During the school vacation, seven teachers from Northcote High School represented state education and Northcote High School at the sixth annual VCE Offshore conference, held this year in Nanjing. The event is hosted by NHS, Firbank Grammar, Thomas Carr College and RMIT. Mr Nhan Do, Ms Kun Qian, Mr Danny Leondidis, Ms Rosalie Maidment, Mr Michael Waiser, Dr Yali Shao and Ms Harriette Barclay ran two days of VCE workshops and model lessons for teachers from all over China. Last week, the Minister for Education, James Merlino, signed off on agreements between NHS and two Chinese schools - Baotou Foreign Languages School and Hengshui No1 High School. This is the culmination of four years of preparation by NHS, and has involved extensive consultation by most areas of the Department of Education. Next week we welcome a small delegation of Chinese teachers who we will induct into the mysteries of the VCE! If you see them around, please say hello and make them welcome!
