Whole School

Naidoc Week (June 21-25)

This week will be acknowledged by Australia in the school holidays, so we will celebrate as a school slightly early.

Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews (June 24)

Please book a slot via Compass to meet with your child's class teacher on Thursday 24th June. Appointment times will run from 11am-7pm. If you are unable to make it on Thursday, reach out to your child's teacher to arrange an alternative.

Your family's attendance will be noted on Compass as your child's attendance at school that day. We look forward to meeting with you to work towards our common goal of supporting the students to achieve their full potential.

Rockstar Day (June 25)

On Friday 25th June, we are having a dress up 'Rockstar Day' to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital. Children will be able to come to school dressed as a Rockstar, Popstar or anything music related.

We are requesting a gold coin donation from each student with proceeds going to the Music Therapy Department of the Royal Children’s hospital. Check out the awesome video! https://www.rch.org.au/musictherapy/

Please speak to your children about what they would like to plan for their costume!  Don't go to too much trouble or expense - it is all about having fun and celebrating music.

Last Day of Term (June 25)

Remember we finish school at the earlier time of 2:30pm. Book into OSHClub if you cannot pick your child up early.

Reminders:

PE lessons

Please note that there will be no PE lesson for Prep students in the final week of term. Students should wear their full school uniform each day.

Home Readers

Home Readers will be changed on Monday of Week 10 as per our usual routine. Please ensure Home Reading Bags are brought to school on this day.

Due to this being the final week of term, we will collect all Home Readers along with the Reading Bags and diaries on Friday 25th June. Reading Bags and diaries will be stored at school over the holidays for safe keeping.

To support reading skills over the holidays, we encourage families to visit the local library or to explore other forms of texts around the home such as recipes, newspapers and instructions.

High Frequency Words

Students are making great progress with high frequency words and we are well on our way to reaching the first 100 words! Please continue to practise reading and writing these important words at home- your support makes all the difference. Below is a video that may support additional practice.

Students have been learning Phase 3 graphemes (letters) and phonemes (sounds). Below is a link to a video modelling each of the Phase 3 phonemes for further practice at home (note that this video was made last year and includes some sounds we are still to learn).
