VISUAL ARTS

YEAR 8 CERAMICS

Being back at school is definitely a very exciting and rewarding experience, especially being able to do ceramics in the classroom and not over a Google Meet. When the first few ceramics lessons back at school happened, I can say that my entire class was brimming with enthusiasm to finally get our hands dirty working with clay and doing other things like collating our artwork for our digital visual diary.

One of the first projects we focused on was making our clay character based on the style of Japanese character artist Hiroshi Yoshii. When all the tools and clay were in front of us, we immediately set to work and soon enough, our artistic sculptures were ready to go in the kiln.

Ceramics back at school has been such an enjoyable experience and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's glad that we can do it in person!
