Education in Faith

ECSI Survey

An enormous thanks to all of our wonderful St. James families who took the time to complete our ECSI surveys!  We know that this is a time consuming and sometimes tedious survey to complete, but the data collected will assist us in making future plans for our community in the Education in Faith sphere in our upcoming review.

FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Friday 11th June

The feast of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus began initially in the Middle Ages and blossomed as a devotion in France in the seventeenth century as a result of the visions of St Margaret Mary Algonque. The feast was adopted across the Western Church when Pope Pius IX declared it a feast day in 1856. This feast celebrates God who is love and is revealed to us through the loving heart of Jesus.

Our Feast of the Sacred Heart Mass due to be celebrated on Friday has been postponed. We will look at holding a Mass or Prayer Service at a later date.

Students are still encouraged to continue to collect donations for the St Vincent de Paul Food Donation Drive. Baskets are located in all classrooms.

Thank you for your generosity!

Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,

I adore you, I love you and with a lively sorrow for my sins.

I offer you this poor heart of mine.

Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will.

Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.

Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions;

give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,

your blessings on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.

Within your heart I place my every care.

In every need let me come to you with humble trust saying,

Heart of Jesus, help me.

Amen.
