News of the Week

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

This week's newsletter includes: Interviews with Year 3/4 students and Miss Dirkze, students talking about their experience at the swimming carnival, a talk with Year 4 students about their feelings for their Eucharist Sacrament as well as a special interview with one of our specialist teachers! We also have information containing news about our Easter Egg Raffle, Hot Cross Buns, Easter Egg Office Drop Off and the Easter Bonnet Parade!!

3/4 Student Interviews

Viola: What do you enjoy most about school?

Jess: I love writing because it’s my passion.

Josh: What do you like about coming into class?

Blake: I like coming to class because I can see my friends since I don't see them much out of school.

Aisha: What is your Genius Hour topic, and how do you feel about it?

Tahlia: Our Genius Hour topic is spiritual health and I am doing the digestive system and we are focusing on having a healthy body. I like learning about the body and how my food is processed.

Camilla: What do you like most about your students?

Miss Dirkze: I like that everyone is really caring in my class and we all have fun while learning!

 

Hunter: Are you nervous about Eucharist?

Ollie: Yes I am but I am a bit nervous because I have to get up in front of everyone.

Iris: What are you excited about for Euacharist and why?

Ava H: I am excited to wear the dress and to receive God's blessing through the body of Christ.

Iris: What are you excited about for your Eucharist?

Iris: I am excited to eat the bread and see what it’s like to eat the Body of Christ. I am a bit nervous that something could go wrong. My favourite thing is eating the Body of Christ. 

Hunter: Are you excited to make your Euacharist?

Liam: Yes, I am very excited.

Interview with Emi 

Question: Where are you going?

Emi: I’m going to Sri Lanka.

Question: Who are you going with?

Emi: I’m going with my entire family. I am going from March 31st to May 2nd.   I will be helping with the baby turtles and teaching the kids how to speak English.

Question: Where will you be?

Emi: I’ll be at the turtle volunteer place because it supplies housing and food.

Whole School Excursion 

The staff have a whole school excursion planned in Healesville Sanctuary as a welcome back to school. We can’t wait for this day! The date for the excursion is Friday 31st March. An Operoo note has been sent to all families. (Don’t forget to sign it soon!)

REMEMBER THE BUS IS LEAVING AT 8:30AM. WE WILL ALL NEED TO BE AT SCHOOL NICE AND EARLY!

Aussie of the Month

Aisha: Did you expect to be an Aussie of the month? Why? 

Thomas: I did not expect to be Aussie of the Month because there were many other students with the same opportunity.

Aisha: How do you feel about getting Aussie of the month? Why

Thomas: I  feel very proud of myself for getting the Aussie of the mouth because I achieved something great.

Aisha: Why did you think that you got Aussie of the month and Why? 

I tried to be kind to everyone inside the classroom and out in the playground.

Specialist Teacher Interview

George: Why did you choose to be a PE teacher?

Miss Richards: I have a love of different sports and I love teaching too.

George: What is your favourite thing about teaching PE and why?

Miss Richards: Seeing the students succeed in sports and having fun.

 

Evan: How was it being part of the swim team and why?

Dash: I enjoyed swimming because we tried our best and gave it a go. I also loved swimming with my friends. I came last in the relay and still had lots of fun!

 

Tom: Did you enjoy going to the swimming carnival and why?

Spencer: Yes I enjoyed the swimming carnival because I enjoyed doing one of my favourite strokes, my favourite stroke is backstroke. I came last but that didn't stop me from having lots of fun!

Isaac: I enjoyed swimming because it was exciting when we got to swim, and because I made a new friend from another school. I came fourth in the breaststroke.

Luke: Yes I enjoyed swimming because I got to meet up with people I knew from different schools, I also really enjoyed being able to swim with my friends in the relay team. In freestyle I came last, in backstroke I came third!

Easter News!

Our school easter raffle is coming up and the more tickets you purchase the more chances you have to win lots and lots of chocolate! Please start dropping off Easter Eggs in the office starting next week. We look forward to seeing Tracey surrounded by chocolate and other Easter goodies! The Easter Egg Raffle will occur on Thursday 6th of April at our Assembly at 2:15pm. 

 

Hot Cross Bun Orders are live on CDF - don’t forget to order some yummy hot cross  buns for your Easter morning breakfast (along with an Easter Egg!) 

 

We are also holding an Easter Bonnet Parade so make sure that on Thursday 6th April you wear an Easter Bonnet!  The Parade will take place at 9am in the Hall.
